TOWING SAFETY

Taking the time to double-check the safety of your vehicle and trailer can prevent a potentially serious auto accident.  The following steps should be followed to ensure towing safety:

§         Inspect tow bar and base plate for loose bolts and parts before every trip. 

§         Never exceed the tow bar or hitch weight rating

§         Check all lights and connections on the vehicle and trailer. Never pull a trailer without working lights

§         Carefully apply brakes, allowing extra distance for stopping. Never slam on the brakes as this can force the trailer to jackknife

§         Always use safety chains
