WET CHEMICAL FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

The recent trend to more efficient cooking appliances and use of unsaturated cooking oils dictates the use of hand portable fire extinguishers with greater fire fighting capacity and cooling effect to combat these very hot and difficult fires.  Wet chemical fire extinguishers are the best restaurant kitchen hand portable fire extinguishers.  They are approved for new Class K listing by U.L. specifically for restaurant kitchen hazards, and meet the requirements of NFPA 10.

These extinguishers contain a special potassium acetate based low PH agent and are normally used as a backup to a kitchen automatic fire suppression system. They are designed for use on fires that involve combustible cooking and vegetable oils or animal fats in commercial equipment. Typical appliances include deep fat fryers, griddles, range tops and charcoal broilers.
