Heard on the Street

Mr. President

We all thought you had the makings of a great President.

Common to great leaders, Socrates, Christ, Lincoln, Dr. King, was their fearlessness, their backbone.

They all did more than talk, and more than give in to overwhelming vested Banking, Wall Street and health care, me, me, me interests.

You missed something growing up.

You missed working on a frozen oil derrick on the graveyard shift in Texas and Utah, you missed picking up ore boat hatches with another deckhand, you missed patching roads in Yellowstone, you missed punching cows, branding and a week on the trail, you missed cleaning out a brewder house in Iowa, you missed hitchhiking across the country, you don't know what it feels like to be unemployed, you have not been threatened with foreclosure and the people you have hired are all academics, and well to doers, Emanuel, Summers, Bernanke, Geithner.

Forget your second term - you had big chances with the Bankers, the Wall Street Insiders, and the health care providers, and you have failed to show the backbone of a great leader.

I cry tor our country for your failures, and above all for your lack of backbone.

Hosses on the Street - Main Street, Not Wall Street, and not the White House,
